ASSISTANT BOATHOUSE MANAGER

Full time/Temporary

The Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Boathouse Manager for the 2022 rowing season. The position works closely with the Operations Manager, and reports to the Executive Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily supervision and management of the boathouse, located at Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s.

Duties may include:

  • Maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and racing shells (boats);
  • Move boats and equipment from boathouse to pond on a daily basis;
  • Interact with rowers and the general public, and direct inquiries accordingly;
  • Make decisions regarding condition of the pond and flag status;
  • Monitor and assist with incidents that may occur on the pond;
  • Assist with preparations for Royal St. John’s Regatta;
  • Other duties as required.

CPR and First Aid, as well as a small craft boating license are an asset, but not a necessity as training will be provided.

Must be available to work early mornings, weekends and provide a Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check.

The position will commence approximately mid-May and continue until mid-August.
