Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee Hosts AGM and Elects New Board of Directors
January 16, 2025 (St. John’s, NL) – The Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee recently elected a new Board of Directors for 2025, including returning President, Ashley Peach, and returning Vice President and Captain of the Course, Keith White.
“During my first term as President, I got to see first-hand the commitment of the rowing community, staff, stakeholders, sponsors and many volunteers who share a love of the Royal St. John’s Regatta”, said Peach.
The Vice President of the Regatta Committee, Keith White, also serves as Captain of the Course and is the individual responsible for all aspects of race day from schedule creation to the safety of participants and volunteers.
“I am excited by the tremendous opportunity to serve as the Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee Vice President and Captain of the Course for a second term. Having spent the last year learning so much and building relationships within the rowing community, I’m looking forward to our 2025 race days and witnessing the crews’ many achievements this upcoming season,” said White.
The Regatta Committee, with its first iteration in 1826, consists of approximately 50 volunteers and is comprised of community members who generously donate time, skills and expertise based on their passion for fixed-seat rowing and the Regatta events.
The Committee is governed by an 11-person Board of Directors and continues to make strides in enhancing the event, while ensuring preservation of tradition and history. The members each hold a unique portfolio and are responsible for a specific area pertinent to Regatta Day and its associated events.
